OR Registered Nurse Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a 13-week Operating Room contract in Wausau, Wisconsin. This role offers 40 guaranteed hours per week with flexible 8-hour shifts across multiple daily start times (0700–1530, 0900–1730, and 1100–1930).

Position Overview

You will work primarily with the General Team in a 21-OR facility performing 40–60 cases daily, with an average of 45 cases. The OR handles General Surgery, GYN, Urology, Plastics, ENT, and GI specialties. Circulating is required; scrubbing experience is preferred. You must have Da Vinci Robotic experience and Trauma Level II experience.

On-Call Responsibilities

Weekend shifts operate on a call-only basis with holiday rotation. During the 13-week contract, you will carry on-call responsibilities for 6–8 weeknights and 1–2 weekends. You must be able to respond within 30 minutes and be ready in the OR within that timeframe. A personal vehicle is required; you cannot rely on rideshare services due to on-call obligations. Call-back minimum is 2 hours.

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of OR experience with at least one prior travel nursing assignment
• Experience in larger facilities with 20+ ORs
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and Wisconsin RN License
• Da Vinci Robotic certification required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Associate Degree or Certificate (Bachelor's Degree preferred)

Compensation and Details

Weekly pay is $2,783.20. Contract runs 13 weeks, beginning August 31, 2026. You may float to additional facilities as needed. Scrub colors are flexible.
