RN - PCU

Job Details:

• Work in 30-bed unit with 22 acute care beds and 8 step-down beds
• Patient ratios: 6:1 on acute care side, 4:1 on neuro step-down
• Weekend shifts required
• Experienced nurses can float after orientation
• Work with equipment including vital sign machines, high flow oxygen, chest tubes, suction, various drips, Vapotherm, BiPAP, trachs, and cardiac drips
• Handle stroke patients and neurological cases
• Perform procedures including lumbar punctures and chest tube placements
• Use Meditech documentation system
• Required certifications: BLS for acute care, BLS and ACLS for neuro step-down
• Participate in bedside shift reports, personal connections, and daily huddles
• Dress code allows black, blue, or grey scrubs with any color on Fridays
• Must have strong nursing skills, time management, and critical thinking abilities
• Step-down experience preferred for neuro step-down assignments
• Unit serves as excellent stepping stone for ICU-bound nurses
