Job Details:

• Schedule consists of two 8-hour day shifts (flex: 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM or 10:45 AM - 7:15 PM) and two 12-hour day shifts (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM) per week
• On-call shifts defined as 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (12-hour shifts); may be assigned night or day 12-hour call shifts
• One 12-hour buddy call orientation shift required within the first two weeks of the contract (weekends: Saturday 7:00 AM, Saturday 7:00 PM, Sunday 7:00 AM, or Sunday 7:00 PM)
• Up to five on-call shifts per 6-week schedule (average is approximately 3, with most occurring on weekends)
• Weekly orientation held on Mondays
• Scrubs provided by the facility
• 2 years of General Surgery experience required
• Travel experience required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years required
• Must complete a minimum of 1 prior travel assignment to be considered
• Experience with Cerner charting system required
• Community hospital experience required
• Serves patients across age groups including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Daily census of approximately 25 OR cases across 7 operating rooms
• Interdisciplinary support available including interpretation services, radiology, pharmacy, and unit secretary
• Required certifications: BLS, State RN License or Compact License
• Maryland license or compact license required
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment
• No requested time off permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
• No more than 7 days of requested time off per 13-week contract
