PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

Opportunity:

RN - PACU

Job Details:

• Work 10-hour day shifts, 4 days per week
• Combination of two shift times: 5:30 AM - 4:00 PM and 8:30 AM - 7:00 PM
• No call requirements
• No weekend coverage required
• 13-week contract assignment
• Must have previous preoperative and Phase 2 postoperative experience
• Must be competent and comfortable starting IVs
• Previous Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Work with patient ratios of 2 patients per RN in preop, up to 3 patients per RN in Phase 2 postop
• Provide preoperative care for wide variety of procedures from open heart surgeries to port placements and endoscopy patients
• Perform Phase 2 recovery care, postoperative discharge education, and discharge patients home
• Work in team nursing environment with collaborative approach
• Use equipment including vital signs machines and glucometers
• Dress code requires navy scrubs or hospital OR scrubs
• Must be flexible, organized, efficient with time management, and function as a team player
