ICU RN Job in Americus, GA

Phoebe Sumter Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for our 10-bed Intensive Care Unit in Americus, GA. This is a 56-week travel position offering $2,142 weekly pay.

Role Overview

You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week (6:45 PM to 6:45 AM) with an every-other-weekend requirement. The unit handles lower-acuity patients including pneumonia, CHF, and sepsis. You will manage a 1:2 patient ratio with no floating outside the ICU unless you are qualified and credentialed for the ER. Charge nurses carry their own patient load, and no nurse aides are available on this unit.

Experience and Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Residency within 75-mile radius of facility
• BSN not required

Clinical Environment

You will monitor and read your own telemetry using Phillips monitors and work with Draeger ventilators. The unit includes an IV team available Monday through Friday for hard sticks and midlines, and respiratory therapy is available 24/7. A hospitalist covers the entire facility. Pharmacy is in-house during the day, with Omnicell access after hours. You may occasionally care for surgical pediatric patients.

Support and Orientation

You will receive a floor-specific orientation of 3 shifts. Charting is performed on the MEDITECH system.

Scheduling and Policies

You will rotate holidays with permanent staff. The cancellation policy guarantees 12 hours every 2 weeks. Dress code consists of hunter green pants with white tops, white jackets, or solid white attire.
