PCU Job in Kansas City, MO

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Registered Nurse for a PCU (Progressive Care Unit) position at BJC West - Saint Lukes Hospital Plaza in Kansas City, MO. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning May 25, 2026.

Position Overview

You will provide direct nursing care in an 18-bed Progressive Care Unit serving adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. You'll manage a 1:5 patient ratio and care for patients with medical cardiac step-down conditions, chest pain, CHF, arrhythmias, and multiple system diseases.

Schedule & Compensation

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, nights
• $2,212.53 weekly
• Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13-week contract
• 8 weekend shifts required in 6-week schedule period (combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
• Maximum 7 days request time off allowed

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years nursing experience
• Current Kansas and Missouri licenses or compact license
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Two professional references from past year

Clinical Skills & Responsibilities

You will demonstrate competency in cardiac telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, post-cardiac procedure care, IV insulin protocols, central line care, blood product administration, chest tube management, ventilator support, and wound care. You will be expected to accept holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed. Regular floating between departments, units, and facilities is required.

Onboarding

You will receive 12 hours of orientation and must complete pre-start training modules. The facility uses Epic charting system. Familiarity with Epic or ability to learn it quickly is expected.
