About this role
Mon Health Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). You'll work 12-hour night shifts, 3 days per week, with a patient ratio of 1:2 based on acuity. The schedule includes weekdays and weekends; blocked schedules will be considered.
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct post-operative care for fresh open-heart admissions from the OR
- Manage cardiac surgery patients in the immediate perioperative period
- Monitor and manage pressure lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, and hemodynamic support devices
- Perform arterial line management, central line care, and sheath removal
- Administer and monitor procedural sedation
- Care for mechanically ventilated patients and manage BiPAP/CPAP
- Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Manage dysrhythmias and perform 12-lead ECG interpretation
- Chart in Cerner EHR system
- May occasionally float to Medical ICU or Step Down Unit
Required Experience and Skills:
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Proficiency in ACT (Activated Clotting Time) management
- Experience with Impella monitoring and CRRT/CVVHD
- Knowledge of Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) operation
- Ventricular assist device (LVAD/RVAD) experience preferred
- Blood product administration and CVA/acute stroke management
- PICC line management
Certifications and Licensure:
- ACLS and BLS through American Heart Association (AHA)
- NIHSS certification
- West Virginia or Compact License required
Additional Requirements:
- Minimum 2 professional references from Manager and/or Charge Nurse roles, obtained within the past 2 years
- Cerner EHR experience preferred
- Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
- Scrubs not provided
Assignment Details:
91-day contract starting July 6, 2026. Weekly pay: $1,944.
