ED RN Job in Asheville, NC

You'll work as a registered nurse in the Emergency Department at Mission Hospital, a Level 2 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center in Asheville, NC. This is a 70-day travel assignment with a start date of April 20, 2026.

Role and Schedule

• Three 12-hour day shifts per week (6:45 AM–7:15 PM)
• Every other weekend scheduling requirement with flexibility to meet departmental needs
• 4-hour hospital orientation followed by an 8-hour shift on the floor

Patient Care Environment

• 101-bed emergency department with high volume exceeding 100,000 visits annually
• Typical patient ratios of 4:1 for medical cases; up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds
• Work in all areas of the ED; no floating outside the department
• Support includes techs for cardiac monitoring, triage, and unit clerks on days and nights

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in ER setting
• Current certifications before start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS
• ENPC required within 90 days of hire

Clinical Environment

• Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors, and Cerner documentation system
• Patient experience standards include AIDET protocols and respectful communication
• Responsibility for keeping boards updated and providing real-time coaching and feedback to team members

Additional Requirements

• Navy scrubs required (all navy, all white, or combination of navy and white)
• Demonstrate teamwork mentality and collaborative approach
• Previous HCA experience preferred

Compensation

Weekly pay of $1,918.44 for this 70-day assignment.
