Medical Lab Technician Job in Pontiac, MI

McLaren Oakland is seeking a Medical Lab Technician for a 56-week night shift assignment. You will work 3x12 hour shifts on an every-other-weekend schedule with no on-call responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct chemical analyses of blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices to identify normal and abnormal components
• Count and identify blood cells using microscopic techniques and procedures
• Prepare blood, plasma, and platelets for transfusions through blood group, type, and compatibility testing
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment including analyzers, spectrophotometers, colorimeters, and flame photometers
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs
• Maintain laboratory supplies inventory and manage ordering processes
• Prepare reports of technological findings by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information
• Operate in compliance with all established QA/QI standards
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment while adhering to infection-control and hazardous waste policies
• Recognize problems, identify root causes, and implement appropriate solutions

Requirements:

• 2+ years of medical laboratory experience
• Blood bank experience required
• ASCP certification required
• BLS certification required
• Travel experience preferred

This position begins November 2, 2026. Weekly pay is $1,477.44.
