About this role

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas. This is a 13-week travel position running from February 9, 2026, with a schedule of three 12-hour night shifts per week (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.), earning $1,708.20 weekly.

Your Role

You will provide direct patient care in a 22-bed emergency department, maintaining a 4:1 patient ratio. You will work alongside 55 staff members including charge nurses, RNs, and ER technicians in a high-acuity setting. Your responsibilities include:

  • Conducting triage assessments and patient prioritization using ESI guidelines
  • Performing IV insertion, medication administration, EKGs, splinting, and wound care
  • Managing trauma and cardiac alert situations, including care for STEMI, stroke, and sepsis patients
  • Providing moderate sedation for procedures such as reductions or cardioversion
  • Assisting with intubation, CPR, rapid sequence intubation, and code response
  • Coordinating transport preparation for higher levels of care
  • Documenting and reassessing in fast-paced environments using Meditech
  • Following isolation and infection control protocols

Requirements

You must have a minimum of 5 years of recent Emergency Department experience in a high-acuity setting. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, and CPI. You will need strong triage and critical thinking skills, with demonstrated experience in trauma and cardiac alert situations. Bilingual capability in English and Spanish is preferred but not required. Familiarity with Meditech documentation systems is preferred.

Schedule and Expectations

You will work two weekends per schedule with no on-call responsibilities. You must be team-oriented, punctual, reliable, and compassionate, with a commitment to patient-centered care. You will need to be flexible and able to adapt to a fast-paced emergency environment. Royal blue scrubs are required.
