Opportunity:

PTA - Physical Therapist Assistant Rehab Acute Care

Job Details:

• 5x8 day shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
• Schedule flexibility available: Wednesday through Sunday or Tuesday through Saturday with same hours
• Guaranteed 40 hours per week
• 16 units of treatment per day
• No float requirement and no on-call requirement
• Weekend requirement based upon schedule chosen (M-F schedule requires no weekends)
• Follow Physical Therapist's plan of care for adult and geriatric patient population
• Patients include orthopedic, heart and vascular, medical-surgical, stroke, and generalized illness cases; ICU patients may be assigned but floor patients can be substituted if not comfortable
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Travel experience required (first-time travelers with strong specialty experience may be considered)
• Acute care hospital experience required
• Required certification: BLS
• Active WV license required to start assignment; pending license accepted for submission
• Scrub color: Anything EXCEPT Royal Blue, Maroon, or Forest Green
• Charting system: Cerner
• General skills required: Home exercise programs, lifting and transfer, patient and family education, safety and injury prevention, billing
• Equipment experience required: Bed alarms, call lights, crutches, gait belt, hospital bed, rolling walker, sit-to-stand lift
• Preferred equipment experience: Hoyer lift, lower extremity prosthetics, sliding boards, soft/hard collars, specialty beds, supplemental O2
• Assessment experience required: AROM/AAROM/PROM, arousal and attention, assistive devices, body mechanics, identifying environmental barriers, pain assessments, sensory response, strength testing, vital signs
