PCU Registered Nurse Job in Johnson City, TN

Join Johnson City Medical Center as a Registered Nurse in our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This 91-day travel assignment offers you the opportunity to provide skilled nursing care in a dynamic acute-care setting while building your clinical experience.

Role Details:

• Work a 3x12 night shift schedule with every other weekend coverage required
• Care for adult and geriatric patients in a 10-bed PCU unit
• Patient ratios of 5:1 on days, nights, and weekends
• Floating to Medical-Surgical unit may occur with 1:7 ratios
• No call requirements

Clinical Responsibilities:

You will manage patients requiring intermediate-level care, including port access and management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care, chest tube management, feeding tube care, heparin protocols, telemetry monitoring, and cardiac/vasoactive drip titration. You will participate in nursing student support and clinical education activities.

Requirements:

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (first-time travelers accepted)
• AHA ACLS, AHA BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred
• Must live 100 miles from the facility
• Flu vaccine required (medical and religious exemptions available)
• Drug testing must be completed within 12–14 calendar days prior to start
• Facial hair must be trimmed for CDC fit testing compliance

Compensation and Timeline:

You will earn $2,332.80 per week. Orientation includes 24 hours total, with 16 hours non-billable. Your assignment begins May 17, 2026, and runs for 91 days.
