ICU - Intensive Care Unit

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:2, sometimes 1:3 if low acuity
• Must work within 50 mile radius requirement
• Weekend requirements: generally every 3rd weekend but may be more based on need
• Holiday requirements: every 3rd holiday, expect to work one winter holiday
• Float to PCU and occasionally MedSurg with 1:5-6 patient assignment when floating to MedSurg
• No self scheduling - block scheduling available with flexibility when possible
• No call or standby requirement unless requested or volunteer to cancel
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year experience required with ventilator experience
• Must have experience with vents, art lines, PICC lines, ports, chest tubes, drains, wounds, ostomies, OG, NG, PPE
• Must be able to identify arrhythmias, perform cardioversions, TEEs, manage post heart cath patients, defibrillator, and pain management
• Required to titrate drips including insulin, levo, cardizem, dopamine, dobutamine, TPA, heparin, amio, lasix, and sedation drips
• Must be able to read telemetry strips independently using Philips tele monitors
• Care for patients with DKA, CHF, MVA, CVA, sepsis, overdose, and general medical conditions
• 10-bed ICU with private beds, ICU and PCU on same floor
• Dress code: any solid color scrubs with no designs, natural color hair required
• 2 days department nursing orientation plus 1 shift on floor
• EPIC charting system
