RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of med surg and telemetry experience required
• Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards
• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting
• Demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required for patient care plan
• Organize and prioritize care according to patient and family needs
• Recognize data from complex situations to determine priorities for care including physical, psychosocial, education, and safety needs
• Assess and anticipate discharge needs of individual patients and families
• Collaborate with patient and family to prepare or update the plan of care
• Utilize multidisciplinary resources in planning care and identify cultural and ethnic issues in patient care planning
• Consult with appropriate resources in a timely manner regarding patients with complex care issues or those at high risk for discharge planning
• Communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care and participate in interdisciplinary team discussions
• Participate in performance improvement activities and unit goal development
• Assess readiness to learn of patients, families, and caregivers and utilize appropriate patient education materials
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment for all patients and staff
