ICU RN Job in Elizabethtown, Kentucky

Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. in Elizabethtown, Kentucky is seeking an RN for its Intensive Care Unit. You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week, providing direct patient care in a fast-paced critical care environment.

Your Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document findings according to RN scope of practice
• Develop problem lists and prioritize patient needs based on input from the inter-professional team
• Design and implement interventions relevant to each patient's culture, age, and developmental level
• Deliver patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy within your scope of practice
• Explain procedures, treatments, and processes to patients and families in clear, compassionate language
• Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition appropriately to the care team
• Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members in patient care activities
• Monitor the accuracy and completeness of all delegated patient care
• Identify and address educational needs according to each patient's comprehension level
• Facilitate the patient discharge process and coordinate with Case Management
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities, including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, and core measures
• Promote positive group dynamics and contribute to a healing environment

This role centers on patient-centered care delivered with a holistic perspective. You will base your nursing practices on evidence, current research, and professional guidelines while actively supporting the organization's values through your contributions to unit-based initiatives.
