PCU Registered Nurse Job in Roanoke, VA

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of May 11, 2026.

Schedule and Pay

• 3x12 night shifts (6:45 PM to 7:15 AM)
• Weekend requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling block
• One holiday per 13-week contract
• Weekly pay: $2,016
• 32 hours of orientation provided
• Two pre-approved time off requests allowed

Clinical Responsibilities

• Care for patients with typical ratios of 1:5 (staffing goal of 1:4)
• Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
• Administer IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
• Give medications including cardiac drips (without titration)
• Provide respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Manage neuro PCU patients with stroke and neurology conditions
• Maintain isolation precautions and telemetry settings across PCU, IMC, and step-down units
• Float within skillset to other PCU or medical-surgical level of care units as needed
• Document in EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• Neuro PCU experience required
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Travel experience preferred, but first-time travelers are accepted
