Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including chest pain, CAD, PVD, arrhythmias, DM, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, HTN, MI, renal failure, PE, CHF, GI bleed, and syncope
• Potential for med-surg overflow patients including GI bleed, sepsis, and CVA
• Perform pre/post cath lab care, PPM/AICD, ablations, post-op CABG, post-op thoracotomy, and vascular surgeries including CEAs, fem-pops, and AAA repair
• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, and Heparin
• Perform sheath pulling at bedside
• Operate special equipment including telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, PCAs, epidurals, and wound vacs
• Patient ratio of 6:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Every other holiday required
• May be pulled to all other inpatient units as agency staff are first pulled
• Unable to guarantee specific scheduling requests such as block scheduling
• Weekend coverage required
• 12 orientation hours
• Charting system: Epic
• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required
• Must be located more than 65 miles from facility (address on driver's license to site address)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS
• Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, chest tube management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, heparin protocols, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, post cardiac angiogram, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, sheath removal, starting and maintaining IVs, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and wound care/wound vac
• Compact or LA license required in hand upon submittal
• AHA certifications required
• 2 Manager/Supervisor references required prior to start of contract
