PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

RN - PACU

Job Details:

• Maintain adequate respiratory and cardiac status of patients awakening from anesthesia
• Continually assess patients and carry out doctor's orders while maintaining patient safety and comfort
• Regularly assess patient needs and provide skilled nursing services as prescribed by the physician authorized plan of care
• Provide direct patient care including medication administration, treatments, call lights, assisting with transfers, and responding to alarms
• Evaluate effectiveness of treatment plans and collaborate with team members to update or revise plans utilizing current information
• Process physician and provider orders accurately, completely, and in a timely manner
• Follow up regarding medication changes and order clarifications
• On-call responsibilities required
• Every weekend schedule required, including holidays
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), Active NIHSS Certification
• Active Michigan nursing license required with LARA and/or Nursys verification showing active status
• Skills checklist completed within one year of application pertinent to the specialty required
• 2 supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years required
• All scheduling requests must be made at the time of submission
