Med Surg RN Job in Wichita, Kansas

You'll work as a registered nurse on a 24-bed Med Surg unit at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. This is a 91-day travel assignment with 3x12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, paying $2,102.40 per week.

Unit Details

• 24-bed unit serving oncology and general surgery patients
• Patient ratio of 1:5 (estimated; actual ratios vary based on census and acuity)
• Night shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse and 5 nurses at full capacity
• Primary nursing care model
• Remote telemetry unit with diverse patient population

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide standard Med Surg care alongside oncology patient management
• Perform vital signs every 8 hours; remote tele patients require vital signs every 4 hours
• Administer chemotherapy (only chemo-certified nurses may hang and handle chemotherapy)
• Use Meditech EMR and iPhone nursing system for team communication

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Minimum 1 year of acute care hospital Med Surg experience
• BLS certification required
• Chemo certification preferred
• ACLS preferred
