RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work on a medical/surgical unit with stepdown/PCU experience required
• Care for post-surgical kidney, liver and pancreas transplant patients on a mixed stepdown and acute care floor
• Provide care for pre-transplant patients being evaluated during inpatient stay
• Monitor patients closely for infection, rejection, and ensure timely medication delivery
• Work either medical/surgical or stepdown patients depending on unit staffing needs and nurse availability
• Must have acute care surgical floor experience - will not accept OR candidates
• ENT and/or transplant experience preferred
• Preceptor and charge experience preferred
• Assume responsibility for assigned group of patients
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments
• Assist physicians in examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Obtain and monitor physiological data and intervene when necessary
• Administer medications as prescribed and manage IV infusions and blood products
• Interact with families regarding care plans and discharge planning
• Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from accredited program required
• Current Oklahoma RN License or multistate compact RN License required
• Current Basic Life Support certification from American Heart Association required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
