PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Located on the 5th floor of the Northwest Tower
• Patient ratio of 1:4, often 1:5
• Work alongside a team of RNs and PCTs with 1 Charge RN, 5-8 nurses, and 2-3 PCTs on night shift
• Minimum 1 year of current acute care PCU hospital experience required
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Must be proficient with telemetry, transport monitors, suction, feeding pumps, trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow, chest tubes, Foleys, pacer wires/pacers, IV pumps, and SCD pumps
• EMR system: Meditech
• Preferred skills include chest tube management and removal, pacer wire removal, 12-lead EKGs, O2 management up to BiPAP and heated high flow, and drip management including heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, dobutamine, milrinone, and ketamine
• Perform post-cath care for right and left heart caths, TAVRs, ablations, Watchmans, pacemaker implantations, TR band management, and neurovascular checks
• Provide post-thoracic surgery care including VATs/RATs, resections, lobectomies, and chest tube management
• Deliver pre- and post-care for open-heart surgical patients including CABGs, MVRs, AVRs, and aortic dissection repairs
• Handle vascular surgery post-op care
