About this role
Join Childrens Mercy Hospital as a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). This 13-week night shift position offers 36 guaranteed hours per week at $2,942 weekly pay, with a start date of September 21, 2026.
Role Details
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts per week
- Patient ratio: 1:2 for all shifts, including weekends
- Weekend coverage required
- Self-scheduling available
- Float assignments may include cardiac med/surg floor and sister hospital in Overland Park, KS (approximately 12 miles southwest)
Clinical Focus
You will care for neonates, infants, adolescents, and pediatric patients with congenital heart defects, cardiomyopathy, arrhythmias, and myo/endocarditis. Experience with CRRT, ECMO, and VADs is essential. You will work with advanced monitoring lines, arterial/CVP lines, PA lines, and umbilical lines.
Requirements
- Current RN license: Missouri or compact license required; Kansas license required (may be pending at start with application documentation)
- Minimum 2 years RN experience
- Minimum 1 year travel nursing experience (first-time travelers not accepted)
- Minimum 1 year Pediatric CICU/CVPICU experience, clearly documented in work history
- BLS (AHA only), PALS, ACLS, and CCRN certifications required; RQI certifications not accepted
- Epic or Cerner charting system experience
- Medication/dosage pass-fail test during first week; 100% score required (three attempts allowed)
