About this role
Kona Community Hospital is seeking an RN for its 9-bed ICU in Kealakekua, Hawaii. You'll work 12-hour shifts on a rotating day/night schedule, delivering direct patient care in a focused intensive care environment.
- Shift & Schedule: 3x12 rotating shifts (72 hours every two weeks)
- Patient Ratios: Typically 2 patients per nurse; 1:1 care when clinically indicated. During Med/Surg overflow, ratios may increase to 3–4 patients per nurse
- Team Structure: Minimum of three nurses staffed on each shift
- Patient Population: Primary focus on adult ICU patients. You may care for occasional stable pediatric patients; unstable pediatric cases are transferred to higher levels of care
- Floating: You may float to other departments to assist as needed, though you are not required to assume a full patient team
- Charge Nurse Pay: Additional $2.00 per hour when assigned charge nurse duties
- Required Certification: PALS
- Experience Required: Pediatric patient care experience is required
Compensation & Duration: $3,060 weekly pay. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of July 20, 2026.
