PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• 3x12 schedule with every other weekend coverage required
• Patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
• Float required to Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units as needed (1:5/1:6 ratio on these units)
• No call responsibilities required
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Must successfully pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• PCU/IMC/Stepdown experience required with minimum 2 years of experience
• First-time travelers accepted
• Must have compact license or Maryland license
• Provide bedside monitoring for up to 8 patients
• Work with cardiac monitoring, ultrasound IV, and lift equipment
• Manage patients with diagnoses including CHF, diabetes, COPD/asthma, sepsis, pneumothorax, ESRD/dialysis, hypertension/hypotension, ETOH withdrawal, and general surgery
• Handle special procedures including chest tubes, PCA infusions, bedside monitoring, non-titratable drips, and IV infusions
• Caribbean blue scrubs required (not provided by facility)
• Care for adult patient population in 15-bed unit with daily census of 15
• Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams
