Opportunity:
EEG Tech - EEG Technologist
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Rotating weekend schedule required with 3 shifts per week (day or night)
• No on-call responsibilities
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in EEG required
• Registered EEG Technologist (R. EEG T.) certification obtained through ABRET highly preferred
• Must be proficient at performing routine and STAT EEG procedures
• Must be proficient at hooking up continuous video EEG procedures
• Proficient in both collodion and paste application methods required
• Ability to place electrodes according to the 10/20 Electrode Measurement System required
• Experience working with neonates, pediatrics, and adults required
• Experience monitoring continuous video EEG with ability to identify abnormal EEG waveforms and escalate to physician for immediate review
• Experience working with elective EMU patients required
• Experience monitoring stereo EEGs preferred
• Must have experience performing inpatient EEG procedures at bedside across all age groups including NICU, pediatric, and adult populations
• Experience working with critical care patients in NICU, PICU, CHSU, BMT, NVICU, MICU, and other critical units required
• Perform inpatient and outpatient EEG and EP procedures
• Must be able to use critical thinking to offer the best care for each patient
• Must be able to comfort patients, explain procedures to patients and families, and answer questions
• Equipment used: Natus Xltek
• Documentation system: Natus Xltek and Meditech for billing
• Patient ratio: 1:4 up to 1:6
• Required dress code: Ceil blue scrubs
