Certified Surgical Technologist Job in Paducah, Kentucky

You'll work as a Certified Surgical Technologist at Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. in Paducah, Kentucky. This is a 13-week contract assignment offering competitive weekly compensation of $2,153.40.

Schedule and Expectations

• Primary shift: Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
• Call responsibilities: 1–2 nights per week and every third weekend
• 13-week contract duration, starting July 16, 2026

Your Responsibilities

• Serve as primary scrub person or assistant for operative procedures
• Perform surgical prep duties, including scrubbing into cases and ensuring instruments and supplies are available
• Set up cases with thoroughly sterilized instruments
• Maintain sterile field during case setup and throughout procedures
• Pass instruments and assist physicians as needed during surgical cases
• Assist physician with cutting suture material and applying electrocautery under direct supervision
• Conduct instrument, sponge, and sharps counts
• Assist with patient draping and positioning in collaboration with circulating RN
• Perform post-case cleanup and gross decontamination of instruments
• Follow all standards for instrument transport and return to Central Sterile Processing
• Ensure surgical suite is disinfected and ready for the next procedure
• Check par levels and maintain room stock for subsequent cases
• Complete mandatory hospital education and maintain compliance with HR requirements
• Follow all safe practices in the operating room and complete age-specific annual competency assessments
