Medical Lab Technician Job in Hastings, NE

You'll work as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT/MT) at Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings, Nebraska. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting May 4, 2026, with weekly pay of $1,839.60.

Schedule and Shift Details

• 10-hour night shifts, 5 days per week on a rotating schedule
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday schedule as assigned
• 40-hour day shift orientation during your first week, with additional training as needed

Your Responsibilities

You will function as a generalist covering hematology, serology, chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology, and point of care testing. Phlebotomy will account for up to 50% of your night shift duties, including neonatal capillary and venous collections, blood cultures, and venipunctures. You'll perform manual differentials and body fluid cell counts, with limited scope microbiology responsibilities such as culture setups and molecular platforms. Arterial blood gas experience is preferred but not required. Gram stain experience is also preferred.

Equipment and Systems

You'll work with the Orchard Software LIS system and Epic EMR. Laboratory equipment includes Sysmex XN, ACL Top 350, Arkray Urinalysis, Roche Cobas 8000, Siemens Rapid Point, Bactec blood culture monitoring, Biofire TORCH, Cepheid Gene Xpert, and Abbott ID Now.

Requirements

• MLT or MT certification via ASCP
• BLS (AHA) certification
• Strong phlebotomy skills essential
• Ability to multitask efficiently in high-volume work atmosphere

Additional Information

Blood bank experience is not required. Dress code requires solid colors only, with red and black being the preferred combination; lab coats are permitted. Travel radius is within 50 miles for all travelers.
