Respiratory Therapist Job in Odessa, TX

You will provide respiratory therapy services across adult medical/surgical, adult critical care, and general pediatrics at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas. This is a travel position running 91 days, starting July 21, 2026.

Schedule & Compensation

• 3x12 nights (block scheduling with weekend coverage)
• 9 weekend shifts per contract
• $1,918.08 weekly
• 24 orientation hours included
• One pre-approved time off request allowed per contract

Your Responsibilities

You will treat patients across all age groups—neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics—managing all pulmonary processes including trauma. Your daily work includes adult critical care, direct intubation, arterial blood gas draws, mechanical ventilation and weaning, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, bronchoscopy, tracheostomy care and management, and nitric oxide therapy. You will work with specialized equipment including jet and oscillatory ventilation for NICU, PB 980 ventilator, V-60 for non-invasive ventilation, nitric oxide delivery, and iStat POC for blood gas analysis. You will support interdisciplinary teams including respiratory services and rapid response teams.

Requirements

• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) credential required; CRT not accepted
• Minimum 2 years experience
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS certifications required
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Travel experience preferred
• Charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred

Medical Center Hospital is a Level II trauma facility. This role offers exposure across multiple patient populations and ventilation strategies in a structured, block-scheduled environment.
