About this role

Mercy Hospital Southeast is seeking a Registered Nurse for a travel position in Medical-Surgical Neurosciences. You will work 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) with 36 guaranteed hours per week on a 17-bed unit. The assignment runs 91 days, starting July 13, 2026.

What You'll Do

  • Provide direct patient care for medical and surgical neuroscience patients, including those with Parkinson's disease, stroke, lumbar conditions, and similar diagnoses—no trauma
  • Manage a patient ratio of 1:6 and maintain IV therapy competency, including central line care
  • Administer medications, perform wound care, and deliver personalized interventions while monitoring for adverse reactions
  • Monitor, record, and report patient symptoms and condition changes to the healthcare team
  • Recognize and respond quickly to adverse signs and emergency situations
  • Supervise and delegate duties to Unlicensed Assistive Personnel and ancillary staff
  • Document all patient care using the EPIC EMR system
  • Float to Med Surg and Progressive Care units as needed

What We Require

  • Current RN license
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
  • BLS certification required; NIH certification can be completed during orientation
  • Charge experience or willingness to learn and assume charge duties
  • Neuro and stroke experience highly preferred

Schedule Details

  • Night shift hours: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Weekend hours as needed
  • No on-call requirements
  • Block schedule requests considered but never guaranteed
  • Scrub color: Black

You will work with customary nursing equipment including IV pumps and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver quality neuro patient care. Weekly pay is $1,971.
