About this role

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit at BJC West – Saint Lukes North Hospital – Barry Road Campus. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting May 25, 2026, with 3x12 night shifts at $2,212.53 weekly.

Your Role

You'll provide comprehensive PCU care to adult and geriatric patients across a 31-bed unit, maintaining 1:5 patient ratios. Your responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, IV therapy management, medication administration (including cardiac drips and heparin protocols), chest tube management, high-flow nasal cannula support, and wound care. You'll care for patients recovering from cardiac procedures, those with neurological conditions, and those with respiratory needs.

Schedule & Staffing

You'll work nights on a 3x12 schedule with 8 weekend shifts during each 6-week period, combining Friday, Saturday, and Sunday coverage. You may float between all MSI units including the ED to care for inpatient holds. Charge RN assignments and holiday shifts may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • 2 years of recent specialty experience with a full year in PCU within the past 12 months
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
  • Active Kansas and Missouri licenses or compact license in hand at submission
  • No employment gaps greater than 90 days in the past year
  • Maximum 7 days of requested time off allowed during the assignment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous charge nurse and teaching hospital experience
  • Epic charting system experience

Pre-Start Requirements

You'll receive 12 hours of unit orientation and must complete Epic training modules and infusion pump/glucometer training before your start date.
