PCU Registered Nurse Job in Roanoke, VA

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning May 11, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,016.

Shift & Schedule

• 3x12 hour night shifts, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5 (you must be comfortable with a 1:5 ratio)
• Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling block
• One holiday per 13-week contract
• 48-hour orientation provided

Clinical Responsibilities

• Care for adult patients with neurological conditions including neurosurgical recovery, stroke management, and neuro-specific diagnoses
• Provide care in 5 dedicated beds for continuous 24-hour epilepsy monitoring
• Handle medical overflow patients as needed
• Float to units within your clinical skillset
• Perform cardiac monitoring and emergency response including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Administer IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Manage central and peripheral line care
• Administer medications and cardiac drips (no titration)
• Provide respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Participate in Rapid Response teams
• Maintain isolation precautions

Requirements

• Current RN license
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• Previous charge experience preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
