Radiation Therapist Job in Winchester, VA

Winchester Medical Center is seeking a Radiation Therapist to join our oncology team on a day shift schedule. This is a 91-day travel position offering stability and predictable hours in a supportive clinical environment.

Position Details

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (5x8 hour shifts)
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• No weekend or on-call requirements
• Start date: July 6, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,774

Your Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate radiation treatments to cancer patients following prescribed protocols
• Perform simulation procedures and provide clinical instruction to radiation therapy students
• Assist with brachytherapy procedures, tumor localization, and dosimetry planning
• Verify prescriptions, schedule patients, and explain pre-treatment and post-treatment procedures
• Prepare treatment rooms and equipment, including immobilization devices and safety measures
• Fabricate immobilization devices for 2-D, 3-D, and IMRT patient treatments
• Acquire and process treatment images while maintaining patient markings
• Document setup instructions and pertinent information for dosimetry calculations
• Monitor patients for treatment reactions and provide emergency assistance as needed
• Collaborate with physicists, dosimetrists, physicians, nurses, and social workers

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of radiation therapy experience
• ARRT certification
• BLS certification (AHA only)
• Valid Virginia State License
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR system
