RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12.5-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend day shifts available Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Holidays worked as scheduled into the permanent staff holiday schedule
• 2 weekends required per schedule
• Cancellation policy of 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• Unit is a combined Stepdown and Floor unit with 32 total beds (12 Stepdown and 20 Floor)
• Patient ratios of 1:3 for Stepdown and 1:4-6 for Floor patients
• Typical MedSurg population including chest pain, COPD, altered mental status, pneumonia, UTI, abdominal pain, overflow for most services, and hospice patients
• Stepdown patients may require titration of drips; floor patients receive PCAs, heparin, and similar medications
• Must be able to read telemetry strips in conjunction with telemetry monitor techs who continuously monitor strips
• May be floated to any floor or stepdown unit as needed
• Free charge nurse budgeted per unit with house supervisor always available
• Nurse aides available with up to 4 when fully staffed for 32 beds
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Royal Blue
• Required certification: BLS
• BSN not required
• Active West Virginia nursing license required
