RN - Circulator OR

Job Details:

• Provide professional nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures as their advocate in the operating room
• Manage overall nursing care in the OR, ensure a safe and sterile environment, and coordinate the surgical team
• Verify patient identity, surgical site, consent, and history while performing preoperative assessments
• Prepare OR suite with necessary equipment, supplies, and instruments prior to procedures
• Monitor and maintain aseptic/sterile technique and manage non-sterile aspects of procedures
• Handle specimens, document intraoperative events, and coordinate with anesthesia, surgeons, and scrub personnel
• Account for all sponges, sharps, and instruments during surgical counts
• Continuously assess patient status, vital signs, and physiological responses
• Document nursing care, medications, implants, supplies, and patient responses in electronic health record
• Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure functionality of equipment
• Assist with patient transfer to PACU and provide hand-off report
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours surgical emergencies
• Minimum 1-2 years of Operating Room experience as a Circulator strongly preferred
• Graduate of accredited ADN or BSN program (BSN preferred)
• Current unrestricted RN license or compact nursing license accepted
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (or obtain within 6 months)
• PALS preferred, CNOR certification preferred
• Experience in Critical Access Hospital, rural, or small facility is a plus
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, aseptic technique, and perioperative nursing standards required
