Med Surg RN Job in Nashville, TN

You will work as an RN on a 36-bed medical surgical unit at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN. This is a travel position with a 91-day duration, starting May 25, 2026.

Shift & Schedule

• 3x12 nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
• 4 weekend shifts required in each 4-week scheduling block
• Float over core staff when needed

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient assessments and general care
• Manage wounds, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, and chest tubes
• Care for stroke and seizure patients
• Support patients requiring dialysis or PCA pumps
• Administer Heparin drips
• Provide post-operative care including amputations, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, oral surgeries, and wound vacs
• Perform bedside shift reports and safety checks every 1–2 hours
• Maintain 100% medication scanning including controlled substances
• Follow HAI prevention protocols for CVC and Foley monitoring with standard precautions
• Implement fall prevention measures

Equipment & Systems

• PD Cyclers, Welch Allyn VS Carts, Hoyer Lift, Broda Chairs, and Alaris IV Pumps
• Meditech documentation system

Requirements

• Current RN license
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Scrubs: Navy, Blue, White, Black, Gray, or Ceil Blue

Compensation

Weekly pay: $1,918.44

Unit staffing includes secretary coverage daily and PRN technicians to support your workflow.
