ICU RN Job in Kearney, NE

You will work as an RN in a 33-bed ICU at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska. This is a 91-day travel contract starting June 22, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,417.76.

Schedule and Ratios

• Work three 12-hour night shifts per week, 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2–3 in the ICU
• Every other weekend required (Saturdays and Sundays)
• Minimum of 2 holidays during the contract timeframe
• Average daily census: 16 patients

Clinical Responsibilities

• Care for adult patients with trauma, cardiac conditions, overdose and substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent placement, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress
• Titrate drips including cardiac medications, insulin, and sedation
• Read, interpret, and document telemetry strips
• Float to PCU and occasionally Med-Surg units, maintaining ratios of 1:4 or 1:5
• Chart in EPIC system

Orientation and Requirements

• Complete one shift of unit-specific orientation
• Pass mandatory open-book skills exam on Wednesdays during orientation with a 90% score required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Driver's license required at submittal
• Must be located outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Artificial nails are prohibited; contract termination will occur for refusal to remove them
• RTO (return to origin) needed upfront: 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract
• Must respond within 30 minutes if called back from on-call status
