Med Surg RN Job in Lexington, Kentucky

You will work as a registered nurse in a medical-surgical unit at Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. in Lexington, Kentucky. This is a travel position with a duration of 89 days, beginning June 29, 2026.

Shift and Pay: You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week at $2,196.47 weekly.

Your Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and nursing rounds in accordance with RN scope of practice
• Develop individualized treatment plans with input from the inter-professional team
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities while providing patient and family education
• Implement patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy
• Collect objective and subjective patient data and develop prioritized problem lists
• Identify patient risk factors and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Document all nursing activities according to hospital policies
• Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families in clear, accessible terms
• Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members while monitoring accuracy of care
• Consider patient culture, age, and developmental level in all care planning
• Provide discharge teaching and coordinate with Case Management
• Participate in unit-based activities supporting organizational values
• Engage in quality improvement activities and core measures monitoring
• Use evidence-based practice and current research in patient care delivery
