Occupational Therapist Job in Ashland, AL

Clay County Hospital is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a full-time travel position in Ashland, AL. You will work day shifts (5x8) for 91 days, starting July 20, 2026, at a weekly rate of $2,471.

Your Role

You will evaluate and treat patients across acute care and rehabilitation settings, addressing orthopedic, neurological, developmental, and functional impairments. You will develop individualized treatment plans, deliver therapeutic interventions including exercise and ADL/IADL training, and educate patients and families on home programs and adaptive strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments for inpatient rehabilitation patients recovering from stroke, TBI, orthopedic procedures, and complex medical conditions
• Provide intensive, goal-oriented therapy to improve mobility, ADLs, cognition, and functional independence
• Address fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-regulation, and self-care skills in school-based pediatric services
• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff
• Train patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques, equipment use, and safety strategies
• Supervise OTAs and students as appropriate
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation
• Adhere to AOTA ethical and professional standards and state licensure requirements

Requirements

• Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
• NBCOT certification or eligibility
• Minimum 1 year of experience (first-time travelers accepted)
• Valid state license at time of submission

Experience in pediatric therapy, outpatient care, and inpatient rehabilitation is preferred.
