Pediatric Transport RN Job in Portland, OR

Randall Children's Hospital at Legacy Emanuel is seeking a Registered Nurse for its pediatric transport team. You will work 3x12 night shifts, with a minimum of every third weekend required and occasional extra weekend shifts to balance scheduling needs.

Role Overview

As a transport RN, you will serve as part of a mobile ICU team, providing NICU and PICU expertise to outlying facilities across Oregon and Southwest Washington. You will transport neonates (22 weeks and older) and pediatric patients up to 18 years of age via ground, fixed-wing aircraft, and rotor aircraft. Transports are conducted in 1:1 patient ratios and directed by Intensivists, Neonatologists, and Neonatal Nurse Practitioners.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of flight and/or mobile transfer experience required; 3 years preferred
• Active Oregon and Washington RN licenses prior to start date
• BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
• Epic charting experience
• One professional reference from a Charge Nurse, Supervisor, or Manager

Clinical Skills

You will manage intubation, resuscitation, IV placement, UAC/UVC placement, IO placement, and chest needling. Patient diagnoses include prematurity, neonatal resuscitation, respiratory distress and failure, asthma, DKA, sepsis, cardiogenic shock, seizures, ingestion and overdose, and cardiac arrest.

Equipment and Support

The transport team includes one RN and one RT per shift. Special equipment includes transport ventilators, isolettes and sleds, CMAC systems, B.Braun infusion pumps, EPOC, glucometer, and autoloader. You will work alongside respiratory services and pharmacy for interdisciplinary support. Flight training will be provided through a contracted vendor during orientation.

Position Details

This 91-day assignment begins October 13, 2026, and pays $2,561 weekly. Self-scheduling is available. Scrubs are provided, and free parking is available in any unrestricted space. You must not reside within 50 miles of any Legacy facility.
