Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work night shifts caring for medical surgical patients with oncology history
• Target patient ratio of 1:6, though ratios may be higher during increased census
• 13-26 week assignments accepted
• Every other weekend required
• 2 years of experience required, will accept first-time travelers
• Must have oncology certification and ability to administer chemotherapy if needed
• BLS certification required
• Call required if called off on a pre-scheduled shift
• Floating required to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatient holding
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• 24-hour orientation (2 shifts)
• Navy blue and white scrubs required
• Required skills include: accessing ports, blood product administration, central line blood draw, peripheral line care, PICC line management, surgical drains, chest tubes, isolation precautions, wound care
• Work with PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR systems
• Attendance at monthly staff meetings required
• May be assigned to Storm Team/Hurricane Team during catastrophic events
• Care for patients with diagnoses including AKI, sepsis, cancer, malignant neoplasms, diabetic foot ulcers, and heparin drips
