NICU RN Job in Glendale, AZ

You will provide direct patient care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, located at 5555 W Thunderbird Rd in Glendale, Arizona. This is a 3x12 day-shift position with a 12-week assignment starting August 17, 2026. You will earn $2,582.10 per week.

Your responsibilities include:

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care of neonatal patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing standards
• Perform comprehensive assessments addressing physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs
• Review patient history, diagnostics, and laboratory data, reporting abnormal results to physicians and appropriate caregivers
• Formulate and implement individualized plans of care utilizing patient, family, and health team input
• Coordinate, delegate, and supervise health care team activities to implement care plans
• Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching, revising the plan as needed
• Document assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation accurately and timely in the patient record
• Participate in unit and facility shared leadership initiatives
• Contribute to the education, role development, and orientation of personnel, patients, students, and families
• Precept and mentor staff to support professional growth
• Participate actively in improving national nursing quality indicators and outcomes

Requirements:

• Current, valid RN license in Arizona
• Minimum one year experience in an acute care hospital setting
• Experience in NICU specialty within the past 12 months
• Experience with Level 3 or Level 4 NICU required
• Current NRP and BLS certifications
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Professional certification preferred; additional certifications or continuing education may be required based on area of practice
