ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts in a 34-bed Emergency Department
• Every other weekend schedule required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming Summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
• Patient ratio of 4:1 with a mixed patient population
• Experience with drips and titrations required
• Scrub colors: Black, Navy Blue, Caribbean Blue (solids only)
• May float to Marion ED freestanding campus
• EMR: EPIC experience required
• Minimum 24 months of Emergency Department experience required
• Must have completed a travel contract within the previous 18 months
• Required certifications: TNCC, BLS (AHA), NIH Stroke Scale, ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA)
• Active Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license required
• De-escalation certification (CPI, MAB, MOAB, or SAMA) highly preferred; must be obtained during onboarding if not currently certified
• NIH Stroke Scale certificate preferred; can be obtained during onboarding
• Skills checklist specific to Emergency Department discipline required
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
• Valid driver's license required
