PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

RN - PACU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Variable days Monday through Thursday
• Call rotation Thursday through Sunday
• Must be able to take call and respond to hospital within 30 minutes
• Current licensure in the state of Maine as a Registered Nurse or Compact licensure required
• Must be in good standing with the Board of Nursing
• BSN preferred
• BLS certification required within 60 days of hire and must be maintained
• ACLS certification required within 1 year of hire and must be maintained
• PALS certification required within 1 year of hire and must be maintained
• CAPA or CPAN Certification preferred
• Previous perioperative experience preferred
• Ability to administer perioperative medications to diverse patient types
• Competence in airway management and cardiac monitoring with ability to institute appropriate interventions
• Knowledge of sedation/analgesia or anesthetic agents, techniques, and associated risks
• Ability to provide perioperative patient education and administer conscious sedation medications
• Provide nursing care to patients in an efficient, professional, compassionate, and caring manner
• Implement nursing care via the Nursing Process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Ensure effective communication with patients, support persons, and members of the healthcare team
