Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required - 2 weekends of a 4-week posted schedule
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• EPIC charting system experience is required
• Pyxis medication system and SBAR communication system utilized
• 24-hour unit orientation
• Candidates must be located more than 75 miles from the facility
• Floating required
• New York state nursing license required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
• Preferred certifications: CPI, TCAR
• Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center experience beneficial; Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
• Required skills include: General Emergency Department (Combined Adult/Pedi), Non-Trauma Emergency Department, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, blood product administration, central line care/management, phlebotomy, starting IVs, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, CVA, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, ortho-trauma, and care of ventilated patients
• Additional required skills include: abdominal pain, asthma, burns, epiglottitis, head injury, hyperglycemia, identifying and reporting abuse, infections, mental/behavioral health conditions, respiratory infections, seizures, urinary tract infections, gunshot wounds, and traumatic amputation
• Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretarial support
• Patients served across all age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
