ED Registered Nurse Job in Utica, NY

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in a 64-bed Emergency Department at MVHS Inc. in Utica, NY. This is a travel position with an 89-day duration, starting August 31, 2026.

Schedule and Compensation

• 3 shifts per week, 12.5 hours each (10:30 AM to 11:00 PM evenings)
• Weekly pay: $2,609
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed

Role Details

You'll care for patients across all age groups—newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics—in a high-acuity environment. The ED is organized into triage (2 beds), acute care (40 beds), super track (6 beds), trauma (2 beds), clinical decision unit (10 beds), and psychiatric (6 beds) areas. Floating to other units is required.

You'll manage complex diagnoses including stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure. Proficiency with specialty equipment such as Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun is essential. You must be skilled with critical drips and medications including pressors (Levophed, Neo, Epi, Vasopressin, Dobutamine, Dopamine), vasodilators (Cleviprex, Cardene, NTG), anti-arrhythmics (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lidocaine), sedation agents (Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl), TNK, Heparin, and Insulin.

Charge nurse capability is highly preferred. Scrub color is navy blue.

Requirements

• Active New York State nursing license
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience with some pediatric experience
• Prior travel healthcare experience
• EPIC EMR proficiency
• Current certifications: AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC
