About this role
Join Overland Park Regional Medical Center as a Registered Nurse in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 28, 2026, offering $2,410 weekly pay on a 4x12 day shift schedule (7am–7pm).
Role Overview
You will provide direct patient care in a 10-bed CVICU with 2:1 patient ratios. The unit specializes in post-operative cardiovascular care, including open heart procedures and ECMO cannulation. You will work 48 guaranteed hours per week across 3 shifts, with 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage patients on telemetry, pressors, and positive inotropes
- Care for patients with pacemakers, chest tubes, and pericardial drains
- Perform frequent site assessments and vital sign monitoring
- Support cath lab and electrophysiology lab recovery
- Operate Alaris IV pumps, GE bedside monitors, IABP, and Impella equipment
- Document care in Meditech electronic health record system
Unit Culture and Support
The CVICU is a Unit of Distinction with high standards for quality and patient experience. Unit secretaries and nursing technicians provide total care support. A floating policy includes Medical ICU and floor units, so flexibility with other assignments may be expected.
Qualifications and Certifications
- Current RN license
- ACLS/BLS or ALS/BLS certification required
- ICU experience strongly preferred
- CVICU experience strongly desired
- Charge nurse experience preferred for night shift consideration
Additional Information
You must wear royal blue scrubs. This assignment offers the opportunity to practice advanced cardiovascular nursing in a specialized setting with experienced clinical teams and comprehensive unit resources.
