CVICU RN Job in Overland Park, KS

You'll work as an RN in the Cardiovascular ICU at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, a 10-bed unit specializing in critical cardiac care. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 28, 2026.

Schedule & Compensation

• Four 12-hour night shifts per week (7 PM–7 AM)
• 48 hours guaranteed per week
• Three weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• $2,410 weekly pay

Clinical Role

You'll provide direct patient care in a 2:1 ratio, managing post-operative cardiac patients and those requiring advanced hemodynamic support. Your responsibilities include monitoring telemetry, administering pressors and positive inotropes, caring for patients with pacemakers, chest tubes, and pericardial drains, and performing frequent site assessments and vital sign monitoring. You'll support patients recovering from open heart procedures, Cath/EP Lab interventions, and ECMO cannulation.

Equipment & Systems

You'll work with Alaris IV Pumps, GE Bedside Monitors, IABP devices, and Impella systems. Documentation occurs in Meditech. Unit secretaries and techs provide total care support.

Requirements & Preferences

• Current ACLS/BLS or ALS/BLS certification
• CVICU experience required
• Charge nurse experience for night shift preferred
• Experience with telemetry, pressors, positive inotropes, pacemakers, chest tubes, Cath/EP Lab recovery, pericardial drains, and ECMO cannulation

Unit Culture

This is a Unit of Distinction with high expectations for quality and patient experience. Staff wear royal blue scrubs. You may float to Medical ICU and Floor Units as needed.
