PACU RN Job in Portsmouth, NH

Join Portsmouth Regional Hospital NH for a 13-week travel assignment as a Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This is a rotating schedule position working three 12-hour shifts per week, with day shifts running 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and additional call responsibilities.

Schedule and Call Coverage

• Primary shift: 3x12 days, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
• Call coverage Monday–Friday: 9:30 PM–7:30 AM with 30-minute response requirement
• Weekend call: 24-hour coverage Saturday and Sunday
• Call frequency: once per week Monday–Thursday, one Friday every 5 weeks, and two 24-hour weekend shifts per 5-week cycle
• Call requires you to be dressed and ready to accept a patient in the PACU

Unit Details

• 10-bed PACU unit with 13 RNs on staff
• 6–8 RNs per day shift depending on surgical schedule
• Patient ratios follow CPAN guidelines
• Equipment: GE patient monitors, Stryker and Hillrom beds
• EMR: Expanse
• Float assignments to Endoscopy and Same-Day Care as needed

Patient Care

You will provide post-anesthesia care for pediatric through adult patients across all case types, including lumpectomies, tubes, tonsils, open heart surgery, and trauma. Hospital-provided scrubs are included.

Requirements

• Active New Hampshire RN license at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years hospital nursing experience
• PACU and PACU pediatric experience at Level II or higher
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Preferred: ICU experience, ER experience, CPAN certification

Compensation

Weekly pay: $1,918.44. Assignment runs 91 days, beginning October 12, 2026.
