PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

RN - Post Anesthesia

Job Details:

• Day/Night rotation with variable start times of 7:00 AM, 8:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, and 7:00 PM
• Care for post-surgical patients across a wide range of specialties including vascular, general, thoracic, gynecology, neuro, orthopedic, kidney transplants, and Whipple procedures
• Manage ventricular drains (ICP monitoring not performed in PACU - patients requiring ICP go directly to ICU)
• Must be proficient with arterial lines and central lines
• Must be familiar with vasoactive and sedative drips
• Must be comfortable managing chest tubes and trachs
• High acuity, high volume PACU environment with controlled chaos in the evenings
• Regularly care for overnight PACU boarders including ICU craniotomy, step-down, and med-surg patients
• Previous ICU and/or high acuity PACU experience strongly preferred
