Med Surg RN Job in Fort Worth, TX

You will join the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit at Medical City Fort Worth as an RN, working nights on a 3x12 schedule. This 13-week travel assignment offers 36 guaranteed hours per week at $1,576.80 weekly pay.

Role and Environment

You will work on an 18-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit (3E) with a patient ratio of 5–6:1. The unit is staffed with RNs and PCTs and uses Meditech documentation. You may float to medical-surgical units in rotation with unit staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform indwelling and straight urinary catheterization
• Insert peripheral IVs and administer blood products
• Change central line dressings and wound dressings
• Remove surgical drains, sutures, and staples
• Execute other medical-surgical nursing procedures as ordered
• Learn and apply specialty patient mobilization skills
• Complete rehabilitation-specific documentation with real-time training support

Qualifications and Requirements

You must hold a current RN license and BLS certification. Two years of inpatient hospital nursing experience is preferred, including medical-surgical, stepdown critical care, or inpatient rehabilitation settings. Experience with neurological, cardiac, or orthopedic adult patients is preferred. Inpatient acute rehabilitation or long-term acute care (LTACH) nursing experience is preferred.

Dress Code and Professional Standards

Royal blue scrub tops and pants in good condition are required—no fading or other facility logos. Scrub caps must be free of logos. Nails must be natural, clean, and healthy; no artificial, gel, or next-gen nails are permitted. Hair must be neat and clean with no extreme styles or colors; beards, mustaches, and sideburns must be neatly trimmed. Body art must be covered whenever possible. Visible piercings other than ear piercings are prohibited. You must compliantly wear all facility-issued PPE, including N95s and face shields.
